내생각에이건그렇게작은 공간은아닌 것같다. 더말라도될 것같다, 한0칸정도.
13시간이 십삼을 가리킨다.
다른 점들이 연결된다, 내 어깨에서 내 팔꿈치, 내 가슴에서 내 허리, 내 무릎에서 내 엉덩이.

그 공간을 그리면, 이렇게 생겼을 것 같다.
그 공간과 이야기를 하면, 난 아마도 이렇게 얘기할 것 같다.

난 가로로 눕고, 세로로 선다. 내 생각에 난 삼차원의 입체물이다. 분명 부피 그리고 덩어리가 있다. 내 주위에 존재하는 존재 안에 난 공존한다. 내 이야기들을 평평한 선으로 나열해 얘기하기가 어려운데 너무도 평평하다. 그 평평함은 점점 평평해지고, 마르고, 얇아진다.

구멍이 보인다. 구멍들이 점점 많아지고, 모든 방향으로 파인다. 가로, 새로, 그리고 대각선으로 퍼지고, 곡선의 파동 나선형으로 움직인다. 아! 몸은 다른 곳에 있다. 함께 공존한다. 뒤집어 보면 보일 것이다.

나: 어떤 연구를 하시나요?

너: -아바타가 되거나, 아바타와 상호작용하는 연구를 진행하고 있어요. 아바타가 되는 경험(sense of embodiment)과 관련한 연구에서는 몸의 조종(sense of agency), 몸의 소유감(sense of ownership), 시점(sense of self-location)을 중심으로 연구하고 있습니다. 예를 들어 1인칭, 2인칭, 3인칭 시점의 아바타를 이용해 우리가 우리의 몸을 인지하는 능력을 탐구하는데 그 과정은 참가자의 감정적 반응, 존재성, 시뮬레이션을 통해 관찰되고 있습니다.

‘I lie horizontally and I stand vertically’, I think I’m 3-dimensional, I have
volume, I have mass, I exist around the things existing around me. I
can’t seem to tell the story in a flat line but it is flat. The flatness is flatter,
skinnier, and thinner.

I see a hole dipping. The holes are multiplied and dropping in all
directions, horizontally, vertically, diagonally and in ‘curvy, wavy, spiral’
motions. Aha! The body is somewhere else. It’s together. Flip it over
and you’ll see.

I: What is your research about?
1
You: Based on the sense of embodiment within the framework of sense
of agency, sense of body ownership and sense of self-location, I find
methodologies in science to materialize these questions, creating body
ownership illusion. For example we use virtual avatars with a first,
second, third person viewpoint to understand our sense of embodiment,
observing the participants’ emotional response, presence and simulator
sickness and more.
