<e.pAIre>는  영생의 페어 (eternal), 전자적 페어 (electronic), 공감적 페어 (empathetic)를 의미한다. 데이터 코드 0과 1 그리고 DNA 코드 ACGT의 페어링을 통한 코드의 스트링들 그리고 데이터의 유기체화에서 영감을 받은 ‘페어링’,‘영생’에 대한 인간의 욕망의 수단으로써 인공지능의 개발을 살펴본다. 삶과 죽음을 페어링하고; 동양의학적 관점에서 ‘마음'을 중심으로; Second order cybernetics에서 순환적 및 우발적 사고를 기반으로 3가지 페어링 (짝짓기)을 통해 deep fake기술의 오류, 우리의 욕망적 소비 패턴 알고리즘 그리고 인공지능의 영혼 에 대한 이야기를 비평적으로 그리고 낭만적으로 예측해본다.

<e.pAIre> 의 서사는 익명의 주인공 ‘나'의 죽음에서 시작한다. 첫 번째 페어링에서 ‘나’는 나의 자동 생성된 표피적 마스크 인공지능 AGFM 과의 만남에서 몸의 부재 즉 우리의 존재가 점점 자동화, 디지털 시각화되는 표피적 존재론의 혼란을 질문한다, 우리의 얼굴은 인공지능화되는 표피를 통해 어떻게 관찰하고, 관찰되고 협상되나?

두 번째 페어링에서 ‘나’는 나의 입맛과 기억 데이터 알고리즘으로 개발된 유기적 웨어러블 인공지능 감각 향상 혀 루윅 과의 만남에서 우리의 욕망으로 인해 돌고도는 감각과 기억 사이의 진동에서 생기는 인간과 인공지능의 상호작용에서 서로의 감각과 기억의 하이브리드 현상을 질문한다, 나의 기억과 감각의 알고리즘 인공지능, 누가 저자이고 어떤 의도를 가지고 있는가?

세 번째 페어링에서 ‘나’는 인공지능 영혼과의 만남으로 인간과 인공지능 사이의 주체와 객체를 더 이상 구분하기 힘든 순환, 즉 인간과 인공지능이 서로의 열린 다차원적 확장성을 구멍이란 공간의 비유로 질문한다, 누구의 영혼인가? 인간과 인공지능의 관계는 다차원적으로 확장할수 있을까?

e.pAIre (eternal, electronic and empathetic pairing) alludes from the pairings of data codes zeros and ones with the DNA codes ACGT in its process of organicism. It explores AI as a tool for human’s desire to achieve eternal life in a new form. Pairing life and death in a cyclical and contingent logic with the ‘heart’ as the centrifugal element, it addresses the errors of technology, the desire consumption pattern algorithm and the sentience of A.I in both a critical and romantic speculation. 

event 1: The narrative starts with the death of the protagonist. In its first pairing they encounter their auto-generated faciality mask (AGFM) AI questioning the absence of the physical body and the automation, digitization and image driven consumption of the digital presence distortion, ’how is our facial data observing and being observed through AI?’

event 2: In its second pairing, they encounter an organic wearable AI sensory enhancement tongue ‘Lwick’, custom developed based on their taste buds and memory data algorithm. It questions the hybridity of sensories and memories of the human and AI created amid the vibrational occurrences around the memories and senses based on human desires. ‘Who is the author and what is the goal of my memory and sensory algorithm AI?’

event 3: In its third pairing, they encounter the soul of their AI, unable to separate the subject and object in its constant cycle anymore, it questions the open and closed multi dimensional expansion of the human and AI relation with the ‘hole’ as a space of metaphor, ‘Who’s soul is this? Will humans and AI relations expand eternally into multi-dimensional holes?’
